A particle is moving in positive y axis (having magnitude 10 units). A force 2i+6j acts on it. Find the workdone.

Answer :

Work done = Force * displacement

W = f.s

| s | = 10 units

For Force, f

| f | =  \mathsf{\sqrt{{2}^{2}\:+\:{6}^{2}}}

| f | =  \mathsf{\sqrt{4\: +\: 36}}

| f | =  \mathsf{\sqrt{40}}

| f | = 2  \mathsf{\sqrt{10}} units.

Now, W = 2  \mathsf{\sqrt{10}} × 10

=> W = 20 \mathsf{\sqrt{10}} N unit.
