For first motion

50=u\times 4+\frac{1}{2}\times a\times 4^2

For second motion

60=u\times 7+\frac{1}{2}\times a\times 7^2

7u+24.5a=60-------------eqn 2

On solving eqn 1 and eqn 2

u = 17.7381 m/sec

And a = -2.619m/sec^2
