A particle is moving in x-y plane such that its
position co-ordinates are varying w.r.t. time as
x = 5sin121 it and y = 121cos5 it (where x and
y are in meter and t is in second). The speed of
the particle at t = 1 s is
(1) 60572 m/s (2) 1212 m/s
(3) 605 m/s (4) 1212 1 m/s

Given:

  • Position coordinates are x =  5 sin 121 t and y = 121 cos 5 t

To find:

  • Speed of the particle at t = 1 s

Answer:

  • Position of the particle at t = 0, x = 0 m and y = 121 m.
  • Position of the particle at t = 1 s, x = 5 sin 121 = 4.29 m and y = 120.54 m.
  • Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time} = \frac{\sqrt{(4.29-0)^2+(120.54-121)^2} }{1} = 4.315 m/s
