A particle is moving on a circular path of radius 10m with uniform speed of 4m/s. The magnitude of change in velocity of particle when it completes a semicircular path is
(1 )4m/s
(2)8m/s

Answer:

8m/s.

When the particle is at the starting point of its path, its velocity is in upward direction and the magnitude is 4m/s and at the ending point its velocity is in the downward direction with a magnitude of 4m/s.

If we take the velocity at starting point to be positive and at the ending point to be negative ,then change in velocity = final velocity- initial velocity = -4m/s-4m/s = -8m/s.So the magnitude of change in velocity is 8m/s.

Thank You!
