Given:

Initial Velocity, u = 35 m/s

Acceleration, a = -4 m/s²

To Find:

The distance covered by the particle in 9th second.

Calculation:

- The distance covered by the particle in nth second is given by the formula:

sₙ = u + (a/2) (2n - 1)

⇒ s₉ = 35 + (-4/2) (2×9 - 1)

⇒ s₉ = 35 - 2 × 17

⇒ s₉ = 35 - 34

⇒ s₉ = 1 m

- The distance covered by the particle in 9th seconds  is 1 m.
