A particle is projected horizontally from the top of a tower with a velocity of 2√gH. Also, of the tower is given as 2H.

Now, we know that :

  • Acceleration i.e. gravity acts only in the Y axis.

  • This means that : only the velocity in the Y axis will undergo changes due to gravitational acceleration.

  • However, the initial velocity (which was given in X axis) will remain constant because there is no acceleration present in the X axis.

So, final horizontal velocity after particle touches the ground will remain as 2gH or (4gh).

\star Option 2) is correct ✔️.
