A particle is projected with velocity 40m/s at an angle of 30, with the horizontal from a point on the ground. Find the velocity of the particle after 1 second

Vx=u.cosa (where a is angle)

=20×0.86 (cos30=0.86)

= 17.2 m/s

Vy=u.sina - gt

=20×0.5 - 10 (t=1 sec and sin30=0.5)

=0 m/s

Velocity after 1 sec=(Vx^2 +Vy^2)^1/2

=(17.2-0)^1/2

=4.14m/s
