A particle is pushed along a horizontal surface in such a way that it starts with a velocity of 12m/s. It's velocity decreses at a uniform rate of 0.5m/s/s (1) find the time it will take to come to rest. (2) Find the distance covered by it before coming to rest?

heya dear your answer is here
___________
u=12
v=0
a= -0.5
t=?
s=?

a=(v-u)/t

t=(v-u)/a

t=(0-12)/-0.5

t= 24sec

s= ut+(at^2)/2

s=12*24+(0.5* 24^2)/2

s =432m
