A particle is thrown in upward direction with initial velocity of 60m/s .Find average speed and average velocity after 10 seconds​

Answer:

Initial velocity (u) = 60 m/s

final velocity (v)=0

Average velocity = (u+v)/2

                            =(0+60)/2

                            =30 m/s

now

Distance (s)= ut + 1/2 *at^2

                =60*10+1/2* (-9.8)*(10)^2 [ a= - 9.8 b'cause the ball is thrown upward]

                =600 - 490

                = 110 m

Average speed =  s/t

                           = 110 / 10

                          = 11 m/s
