Explanation:

1. Find the ratio of the following:

(a) Speed of a cycle 15 km per hour to the speed of scooter 30 km per hour.

(b) 5 m to 10 km

(c) 50 paise to Rs. 5

Ans. (a) Speed of cycle = 15 km/hr

Speed of scooter = 30 km/hr

Hence ratio of speed of cycle to that of scooter = 15 : 30 = = 1 : 2

(b) 1 km = 1000 m

10 km = = 10000 m

Ratio = = = 1 : 2000

(c) Rs 1 = 100 paise

Rs 5 = = 500 paise

Hence Ratio = = = 1 : 10

Answer:

initial velocity, u=50m/s

final velocity(at highest point), v=0m/s

accelaration, g=-9.8

using v=u+gt

0=50-9.8t

Hence time taken to reach at the top, t=50/9.8=5.102 sec

Now using s=ut+gt^2/2

s=50×5.102-9.8×5.102^2/2

Hence, s=127.6m
