A particle is thrown vertically downward with velocity u from a certain height above the earth. Find the deflection of the particle from the vertical after time t.​

Relative acceleration =0 m/s

Relative initial velocity =−50 m/s

Using relative motion,

s=ut+(1/2)at

100=50t+(1/2)×0×t

t=2 s

For particle projected from ground,

s=ut+(1/2)at

s=50×2−(1/2)×10×2  

2

 

  =80 m
