u = 49 m/s

● Explanation -

For the particle to cover same distance in 5th and 6th second, particle must have changed its direction at end of 5th second.

At maximum height, velocity will be zero.

v = u + at

Substitute, v = 0 m/s, a = -g = -9.8 m/s^2, t = 5 s.

0 = u - 9.8×5

u = 49 m/s

Hence, velocity of the particle is 49 m/s.
