The displacement of the object is 5 meter

The diagram of the distance would look like the above diagram.

So, displacement

  = \sqrt{ {3}^{2}  +  {4}^{2} }  \: m \\  =  \sqrt{9 + 16}m  \\  =  \sqrt{25} m \\  = 5m
