A particle moves in a circular path of radius 2cm. if a particle complete 3 rounds, then the distance and displacement of the particle are​

Answer :

Radius of circular path = 2cm = 0.02m

We have to find distance and displacement of particle after completing 3 rounds.

★ Distance is defined as the actual length of path which is covered by moving object.

It is a scalar quantity having only magnitude.

Distance covered by particle after completing one round of circular path will be equal to the perimeter of circle.

After completing 3 rounds :

→ Distance = 3 × 2πr

→ Distance = 3 × 2 × 3.14 × 0.02

Distance = 0.376 m

★ Displacement is defined as the shortest distance between initial and final position of the entire journey.

After completing three rounds, particle comes to the initial position.

Therefore displacement of particle will be zero.
