A particle moves on a straight line with velocity to metre per second covers a distance of 5m return back to initial position along the same path with velocity for metre per second the distance and displacement covered by the particle are respectively

the particle came in a same position so the displacement covered by particle is zero and the total distance covered by particle is 10 m write the velocity of metre per second and the displacement is equal to zero because the object is in same position

as a velocity is vector quantity so when the particle moves and Returns 5 metre path its direction is nothing. so calculating time you can find the speed but not velocity. so velocity is zero

as a body moves and came show the same path so total distance covered by the body is 5 + 5 = 10

displacement is also zero because the body moves and came at the initial. So the shortest path covered by the body is same
