A particle moves so that its acceleration is always twice its
velocity. If its initial velocity is 0.1 ms⁻¹, its velocity after it
has gone 0.1 m is
(a) 0.3 ms⁻¹ (b) 0.7 ms⁻¹
(c) 1.2 ms⁻¹ (d) 3.6 ms⁻¹

Answer:

0.3 m/s

Explanation:

a = 2v = dv/dt

Now,

dv/dt = 2v

dv/dt X ds/ds = 2v        ...............(Multiplying by ds/ds both sides)

dv/ds X ds/dt = 2v

i.e v. dv/ds = 2v

therefore,

v.dv = 2ds.v

dv = 2ds

integrating both sides

v - 0.1 = 0.2

i.e    v= 0.2+0.1= 0.3 m/s
