Answer:

1 m/s

Explanation: Speed = distance/time

Distance doesn't depend upon direction.

∴ Total distance = 8m + 6m

                            = 14m

  Total time = 14 s

∴ speed = distance/time

              = 14/14 m/s

              = 1 m/s

Answer:

Given :-

Distance covered = 8 metre east and 6 meter north

Time = 14 second

To Find :-

Speed of particle

Solution :-

Total distance covered = Distance covered in East + Distance covered in North

 \sf \: 8  + 6

14 \sf \: m

Now

 {\boxed{\red{\underline{\mathfrak{Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}}}}}}

 \sf \: Speed =  \dfrac{14}{14}

 \therefore { \textsf{ \textbf { \underline{Speed \: is \: 1 \: m/s}}}}
