A particle moving in a circle, does not move with a constant velocity. Its velocity changes continuously, as the direction of velocity vector is changing continuously. Albeit it is the speed of the particle which does not change with time. Since the velocity is changing the particle is having an acceleration of magnitude |a| = v²/r, where v = speed of the particle and r = radius of the circular path. The acceleration is directed from the particle to the centre along the radius
