A particle moving along a straight line with uniform acceleration has velocities 7m/a at A and 17m/s at C. B is the mid point of AC. Then (A) The velocity at B is 12ms (B) The average velocity between A and B is 10m/s (C) The ratio of the time to go from A to B to that from B To C is 3:2 (D) The average velocity between B and C is 15m/s

Answer:

We know that v² - u² = 2as

17² - 7² = 2a * 2x

240 = 4ax

ax = 60

Now v'² - u² = 2ax

v'² = u² + 2ax

= 7² + 2ax

= 49 + 2 * 60

= 169

v' = 13 m/s

Now, v' = u + at1

or, 13 = 7 + at1

at1 = 6

Similarly, at2 = 17-13 = 4

Now, at1/at2 = 6/4

or, t1/t2 = 3/2 Answer.

hope it will help you....
