A particle moving in a plane starts at the origin at time t=0, reaches the point with coordinates (-1 m, 2 m) at t=1 s and the point (2 m, 6 m) at t=3.5 s. The magnitude of the average velocity (in m/s) between t=1 s and t=3.5 s is:

Answer:

r1=(-i+2j ) displacement = 3i+4j

r2=( 2i+6j) (r2-r1)

so avg velocity = total didplacement / total time.

total time between the journey = 3.5-1=2.5s

so avg velocity = 3i+4j / 3.5 = 5/2.5 = 2m/s
