A particle moving in a straight line covers half cpvers half the distance with speed of 3 m/s. The other half of the distance is covered in two equal time interval with speed of 2.5 m/s and 3.5 m/s respectively. The average speed of the particle during the motion is
a. 4 m/s
b. 5 m/s
c. 3 m/s

Given: speed 1 = 3m/s

speed 2 = 2.5m/s

speed 3 = 3.5m/s

To find: average of the speed of that particle.

Solution:

average = sum of the data/total no. of data

average = 3+2.5+3.5/3

average = 3+6/3

average = 9/3

average = 3

thus,

the average speed of that particle is 3m/s.
