A particle moving with a uniform acceleration travels 24 m and 64 m in the first two consecutive intervals
of 4 sec each. Its initial velocity is
(A) 1 m/sec

Answer:

Per my knowledge, u=4m/s

Explanation:

Distance in first interval of 4s=24m

Distance in second interval of 4s=24m(here the commutative time is of 8s, 4s for first interval and 4s for second interval)

Using equation of motion,

s=ut+0.5(a)(t^2)

first case,

t=4s, s=24m

24=4u+0.5(a)(16)

24=4u+8a....................(1)

second case,

t=8s, s=64

64=8u+0.5(a)(64)

64=8u+32a..................(2)

Solving equations (1) and (2),

a=1m/s^2; u=4m/s

Cheers!
