Given:

A particle moving with uniform accerlation along x axis crosses x=10 m and x=50m with velocity 10m/s and 30m/s respectively.

To find:

The velocity with which it crosses the point x=40m ?

Calculation:

Let the acceleration of the object be "a".

So, in between the position x = 10m and x = 50m, we can say that:

 \therefore \:  {v}^{2}  =  {u}^{2}  + 2as

  =  > \:  {(30)}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  + 2a(50 - 10)

  =  > \:  {(30)}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  + 2a(40)

  =  > \:  900  =  100  + 2a(40)

  =  > \:     2a(40) = 800

  =  > \:     80a = 800

  =  > \:     a = 10 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Now , in between x = 10m and x = 40 m, we can say that:

 \therefore \:  {v}^{2}  =  {u}^{2}  + 2as

 =  >  \:  {v}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  + 2(10)(40 - 10)

 =  >  \:  {v}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  + 2(10)(30)

 =  >  \:  {v}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  + 600

 =  >  \:  {v}^{2}  =  100  + 600

 =  >  \:  {v}^{2}  =  700

 =  >  \:  v  =   \sqrt{700}

 =  >  \:  v  =   26.45 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

So, velocity at x = 40 m is 26.45 m/.

Hope It Helps.
