A particle of mass 10 mg is in equilibrium in a verticle electric field E = 10^5 j . The charge on the particle is (take g = -10j )

Solution:

We know that :

E=F/q.........(1

We also know that:

F=mg...........(2

So,

E=mg/q

By rearranging, we get:

q=mg/E

q=(0.01×10)÷10^5

q=1×10^-6

q=1 micro-columb
