It is given that, a particle starts from origin, moves along X-axis to  the point (5 m, 0) and then returns along the same  line to the point (-10 m, 0).

The initial position of the particle is origin i.e. (0,0). final position of the particle is (-10,0). We need to find the displacement of  particle during the trip.

The distance between final and initial position is called the displacement of the particle.

So, Displacement=final\ position-initial\ position

Displacement=-10-0

d = -10 meters

So, the displacement of the particle during the trip is -10 meters. Hence, this is the required solution.
