A particle starts from point with a velocity of 5km/h for 10 min and then degenerates at the rate 1 km/h2,till it stops . Find the total distance covered by bicycle

Here's ur answer :-
Case 1.When the particle moves with a constant velocity of 5kmph for 10min......
Speed =5kmph
Time =10min =1/6hrs...
Therefore distance covered = Speed *Time =1/6*5=5/6km.....
Case 2. When the particle decelerates :-
u=5kmph
v=0
a=-1kmph²
We know that,
v²=u²+2as
Putting the values,
0=5²+2*(-1)*s
=>25-2s=0
=>-2s=-25
=>s=25/2km....
Therefore total distance =(5/6+25/2)km
=40/3km=13.33km....
