A particle starts from rest at t = 0.

According to figure,

We need to calculate the velocity at 2 sec

Using equation of motion

v= u+at

v = 0+3\times2

v = 6\ m/s

Now, the velocity from 2 sec to 4 sec

The acceleration is -3 m/s²

v = u+at

v =6-3\times2

v=0

Hence, The velocity must be increases continuously with time and then comes to zero.
