A particle starts from rest, moves with cotistant acceleration for 15 s if it covers s, distance in 1st 5 s then
distances, in next 10 s, then find the relation between s1 and s2

if acceleration be a then using equation S=ut+at

2

/2 and putting initial velocity u=0 we get s

1

=a5

2

/2=25a/2..................... (1)

put t=15 we get distance in 15second as S=a15

2

/2=225a/2

Now distance travelled in last 10seconds will be distance in 15 second - distance in 5 second=S−s

1

=225a/2−25a/2=200a/2=100a

which is nothing but 8×25a/2 or 8s

1

So s

2

=8s

Answer:

if acceleration be a then using equation S=ut+at2/2 and putting initial velocity u=0 we get s1=a52/2=25a/2..................... (1)

put t=15 we get distance in 15second as S=a152/2=225a/2

Now distance travelled in last 10seconds will be  distance in 15 second - distance in 5 second=S−s1=225a/2−25a/2=200a/2=100a

which is nothing but 8×25a/2 or 8s1

So s2=8s1
