Soln:

It is very simple to calculate Distance and Displacement.

Distance: The Total Distance Covered by the Particle

i.e, 20(Travelled from (0, 0) to (20, 0)) + 20(Travelled back to return origin(20, 0) to (0, 0) ) + 20(Travelled from(0, 0) to (-20, 0)) = 60 m

Displacement: Net Distance Covered by the Particle

20((0, 0) to (20, 0)) + (-20)(return back to origin from (20,0) to (0, 0)) + 20((0, 0) to (-20, 0) ) = 20 m

Hope it helps!

Answer:60m,20m and direction along negative x-axis.

Explanation: distance =20(travelled from (0,0) to (20,0) + 20(travelled back to return origin (20,0) to (0,0)) + 20(travelled from (0,0) to (-20,0)) = 60m.

Displacement =20((0,0) to (20,0)) +(-20) (return back to origin from (20,0) to (0,0)) + 20((0,0) to (-20,0) =20m.
