Given,

u = 0

S = 100 m

t = 10 seconds.

Using,

s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} a {t}^{2} \\  =  > 100 = 0 +  \frac{1}{2}  \times a \times  {10}^{2}  \\  =  > 100 =  \frac{100a}{2}  \\  =  > a = 2 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Acceleration of particle is 2 ms⁻²

Explanation:

  • Acceleration of the body is defined as the rate of change of velocity. It is a vector quantity so have direction as well as magnitude
  • Acceleration can be positive, negative and zero
  • In the straight line motion we can calculate any of quantity by using the three equations of motion like initial velocity, final velocity, distance or displacement, time taken during the motion and acceleration of the body

Given, Distance covered = 100 m

Time taken = 10 sec

Initial velocity = 0 ms⁻¹

we can calculate the acceleration of particle by using following equation

=> s = u t +\frac{1}{2} a t²

=> 100 = 0 * 10 + \frac{1}{2} a (10)²

=> 100 = 50 a

=> a = 2 ms⁻²
