A particle travels from point A to B in a straight line with uniform speed of 60km/h. It immediately returns back from B to A with uniform speed of 40km/h. Find average velocity and average speed of particle over the whole journey.​

here,

from A to B,

v1=60 kmph=16.67 m/s

from b to a,

V2=40 kmph=11.11 m/s

so,

average speed

 =  \frac{16.67 + 11.11}{2}  = 27.78

average velocity will be 0 because displacement is 0.

here, the object came from A to B then again B to A. so, it stays at A

so,

Velocity

 =  \frac{displacement \: }{time}  \\  =  \frac{0}{time}  \\  = 0
