Given : A particular drink requires 3 different ingredients.

purchased at the rate of Rs. 10, 8 and 6 per liter respectively.

mixed in the proportions of 3:4:5

To Find : If each liter of the drink is sold at 50 percent profit, what is

the sale price of the drink (in Rs. Per liter)?

Solution:

mixed in the proportions of 3:4:5 in

3k , 4k and  5k liters purchased

Total = 3k + 4k + 5k  = 12k

Cost of 3k  = 10 * 3k = 30k  Rs

Cost of 4k  = 8 * 4k = 32k   Rs

Cost of 5k  = 6 * 5k = 30k   Rs

Total Cost  = 30k + 32k + 30k  = 92k    Rs

Cost for 12k litres  = 92k    Rs

cost for 1 litres = 92k/12k  =92/12   Rs

= 23/3   Rs

drink is sold at 50 percent profit,

SP = (23/3)  + (50/100)(23/3)

= (23/3)  + (1/2) (23/3)

= (23/3) ( 1 + 1/2)

= (23/3) (3/2)

= 23/2

= 11.5   Rs

the sale price of the drink (in Rs. Per liter) = 11.5
