In statistical hypothesis testing the error which occurs when one accepts a null hypothesis that is actually false is known as type II error. It rejects the alternative hypothesis even though it does not occur due to chance.

when a person thinking of himself as the most knowledgeable person, he will never consider other to be intelligent and never appreciate their knowledge and excellence. I think this can be the reason why examiner failed a student.
