Answers
Given : A password consists of five digits, in this format "ABCDE".
Given: D = 3B.. and A + B + C + D + E = A*D and few rules
To find : What is the password?
Solution:
1 2 7 4 5 where only one correct number but wrong position
=> Hence 4 numbers should come from 0 , 3 , 6 , 8 , 9
6 1 7 4 2 with two correct numbers and positions..
6 is correct and correct position
and ( 1 2 7 4 can have one correct) so 5 is not correct
7 , 4 can not be correct as their position is same in 1 2 7 4 5 & 6 1 7 4 2
While one has correct position , but one does not
Either 1 is correct or 2 is correct
2 6 8 5 7 with two correct numbers one of them is in the right position
one number correct is 6 and wrong position
5 & 7 are not correct
so we left with 2 & 8
2 can not be correct as its should be in correct position in 2 6 8 5 7 & 6 1 7 4 2 but position are different
Hence 8 is correct
now 2 is not correct hence 1 must be correct
2 6 8 5 7 - position of 8 is correct
6 1 7 4 2 - position of 6 & 1 is correct
we got
6 1 8 D E
D = 3B => D = 3
Hence
6 1 8 3 E
A + B + C + D + E = A*D
6 + 1 + 8 + 3 + E = 6 * 3
=> 18 + E = 18
=> E = 0
