A path 1 meter wide is built inside a square park of side 30 m along its sides. Find the area of the path. Calculate the cost of constructing the path at the rate of rs 70 per m2.

We will take a square park of side 30 m and a smaller square in between this of side 28m ( 30 -1+1=28).
We will subtract the are of bigger square with the smaller square.
30^2=900,28^2=784

900-784=116m
Now,we will multiply it by 70 to get the cost of constructing the path.
116x70=Rs.812

Thus,the cost is Rs.812
