Given :

⬤ A path 1 m wide is built along the border .

⬤ Side of Square Garden is 30 m .

To Find :

⬤ Area of Path .

⬤ Cost of Planning grass in remaining Portion of Garden at the Rate of ₹ 40 per m² .

Solution :

• Side of Bigger Circle = 30 m .
• Side of Smaller Circle = (30 - 2) = 28 m .

(i) Area of Path = Area of Bigger Circle - (Area of Smaller Circle .

Area of Path = (Side)² - (Side)²

Area of Path = (30)² - (28)²

Area of Path = (30×30) - (28×28)

Area of Path = 900 - 784

$\sf{Area \:of\: Path = 116}$

Therefore , The Area of the Path is 116 m² .

Now :

(ii) 1m² = 40

784 = 784 × 40

= 3136

Therefore , The Cost of Painting grass in the Remaining Portion of the Garden at the Rate of ₹ 40/m² is 3136 .
