Hello,
let ABCD a square fieldof side 72m and the shaded region be the path.
Then :
AD = 72m , XP=2m, SY = 2m ,XY = AD
you have that:
XP + PS + SY = AD ;
from which:
PS = AD - XP - SY = 72-2-2 = 68m
We have:
PQRS in a square of side 68m
The area of path = Area of ABCD - Area of PQRS;
=(72m)²-(68m)²;
=5184 m² - 4624 m²;
=560 m²

bye :-)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let ABCD a square fieldof side 72m and the shaded region be the path.

Then :

AD = 72m , XP=2m, SY = 2m ,XY = AD

you have that:

XP + PS + SY = AD ;

from which:

PS = AD - XP - SY = 72-2-2 = 68m

We have:

PQRS in a square of side 68m

The area of path = Area of ABCD - Area of PQRS;

=(72m)²-(68m)²;

=5184 m² - 4624 m²;

=560 m²
