Correct question :-

A path 5 cm wide runs along inside a square park of side 100 cm. Find the area of the path . Also find the cost of cementing at the the rate of Rs 250 per 10 sq.cm.

Answer-:

Given inner side of square park, s = 100 cm

Area of inner square = 100² = 10000cm²

width of path, w = 5 cm

Outer side of square = 100 + 5 + 5 = 110 cm

Area of outer square =110² = 12100 cm²

Area of path = 12100 − 10000 = 2100 cm²

Cost of cementing at the rate of Rs 250 per 10 sq cm = Rs 250 × 210 = Rs 52500

∴ Cost of cementing a 2100 cm² path = Rs. 52500
