Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of rectangle=l*b

Length= 5m

Breadth= 100m (all sides of a square are equal)

Therefore, 5*100=500m^2

Question:-

A path 5m wide runs along inside a square park of side 100m . Find the area of the path.

Solution:-

∴ Let ABCD be the square park of side 100m. The shaded region represents the path 5m wide.

⠀⠀PQ = 100 - (5+5) =90m

:\implies Area of square ABCD = \sf{(side)^2} = \sf{(100)^2} \sf{m^2} = 10000\sf{m^2}

:\implies Area of square PQRS = \sf{(side)^2} = \sf{(90)^2 \: m^2} = 8100 \sf{m^2}

Therefore,area of the path = (10000-8100)m^2 = 1900\sf{m^2}
