A path 5m wide runs along inside a square park of side 100m. Find the area of path.

Also, Find the cost of cementing it at the rate of ₹250 per 10m2​

(I)Area of square =side²

= 100m×100m

=10000m²

Side of the entire square =100m-5m-5m

=90m

Area of entire square =90m×90m

=8100m²

Area of path =Area of outer square -Area of entire square

= 10000m²-8100m²

=1900m² is the area of the path

(ii)Given,

cost of cementing 1m² of path = ₹250

therefore, cost of cementing 1900m² = ₹250×1900m²

=₹475000
