Let the length of rectangular plot be 'a'metre
There will be two rectangles
1. Inner plot of area 12×a sq.m
2.Outer plot formed by adding 2m to both sides of the plot
length=a+2+2=a+4 m
width=12+2+2=16 m
given area=124 sq. m
area=16×(a+4)=124
a +4=124/16 m
a+4=7.75
a=3.75m
