A path of uniform width 3m runs inside a hall which is 24m long 18 m broad find the area of the path and cost of flooring it at the rate of ₹5 per square metre​

= 18m

length of the path parallel to the breadth of the hall = 18 - ( 3 + 3 )

= 18 - 6

= 12m

area of the hall excluding the path = l × b

= 18 × 12

= 216m²

hence, area of the path = 432 - 216

= 216m²

total cost of flooring the path at the rate of ₹5 per m² = 216 × 5

= ₹1080
