radius of pool =√( 962.5/π) = 17.5 m
hence,
area of the path = π{(17.5+3.5)^2 - 17.5^2}
=π{21^2-17.5^2} = π × 134.75 = 432.32 m^2

Answer:

The area of the path is 422.24 m² .

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula

Area\ of\ a\ circle = \pi a^{2}

Where a is the radius of the circle.

As given

A path of width 3.5 m runs all around a circular pool having an area of 962.5 m² .

\pi = 3.14

Thus

962.5=3.14\times a^{2}

a^{2} = \frac{962.5}{3.14}

a^{2} = 306.53

a = √306.53

a = 17.5 m

As a path of width 3.5 m runs all around a circular pool .

r = 17.5 + 3.5

r = 21 m

Area\ of\ the\ path\ with\ circular\ pool=3.14\times 21\times 21

                                                                      = 1384.74 m²

Area of the path = Area of the path with circular pool - Area of the path

Put all the values in the formula

Area of the path = 1384.74 m²- 962.5 m²

                           = 422.24 m²

Therefore the area of the path is 422.24 m² .
