Given data : A patient in a hospital is given soup daily in a cylindrical bowl of diameter 7 cm.If the bowl is filled with soup to a height of 4 cm.

To find : How much soup the hospital has to prepare daily to serve 250 patient ?

Solution : Here diameter of cylindrical bowl is 7 cm.

⟹ Radius of cylindrical bowl = diameter/2

⟹ Radius of cylindrical bowl = 7/2

⟹ Radius of cylindrical bowl = 3.5 cm

Now,

⟹ volume of cylindrical bowl = π * r² * h

⟹ volume of cylindrical bowl = 22/7 * (3.5)² * 4

⟹ volume of cylindrical bowl = 22/7 * 12.25 * 4

⟹ volume of cylindrical bowl = 22 * 1.75 * 4

⟹ volume of cylindrical bowl = 38.5 * 4

⟹ volume of cylindrical bowl = 154 cm³

Now,

⟹ soup prepared for 250 patient = 250 * 154

⟹ soup prepared for 250 patient = 38500 cm³

Answer : Hence, the hospital has to prepare 38500 cm³ soup daily to serve 250 patient.

More info :

⟹ 1 cm³ = 0.001 litre

similarly

⟹ 38500 cm³ = 38.5 litre

so we can write,

Hence, the hospital has to prepare 38.5 litre soup daily to serve 250 patient.
