A patient in Hospital is given soup daily in a cylindrical bowl of diameter 10 cm, if the bowl is filled with soup to a height of 7 cm. How much soup the hospital has to prepare daily to serve 300 patients?

Answer:

Given that Diameter of a cylindrical bowl = 7cm.

Then the radius of the cylindrical bowl r = d/2

= 3.5 cm.

Given that height of the cylindrical bowl = 4cm.

the volume of the soup in each cylindrical bowl = pir^2h

= 22/7 * (3.5)^2 * 4

= 22 * 3.5 * 0.5 * 4

= 154cm^3.

Then the volume of soup required to serve 250 patients = 250 * 154

= 38500cm^3

= 38.5litres.
