A patient Was suffering from an infection. His blood report showed an increase in the number of white blood cells. what could be the reason for this?

A reaction to a drug that increase white blood cell . A disease of bone marrow, causing abnormally increase in white blood cell .

This was because when there is an infection on our body then pathogens may enter through that infected place and infection may increase and may cause adverse affects on our body. So the immune system sends white blood cells to kill the pathogens and suppress the rate of spreading of infection. This is a response from our body which can protect us even from the deadliest diseases and infections.
