The cost price of peaches if they sell for $5.50 per kg, is $3.58.

Given: The weight of a peach: 65 g

           Number of peaches: 10

The selling price of peaches per kg is $5.50

To find: the cost price of peaches

Solution:

In general terms,

Cost price= Selling price + Profit

Weight of 1 peach: 65 g

Weight of 10 peaches= 10× 65g = 650 g or 0.65 kg

The cost price of 1 kg peaches is $5.50

Cost price of 0.65 kg is $5.50× 0.65 = $3.58

The cost price of peaches if they sell for $5.50 per kg and we buy 10 peaches of 65 g weight, is $3.58.
