After this

x^2 = 9^2 + ( 27 - x )^2

x^2 = 81 +729 -54x +x^2

0=810-54x

x=15.

QT = SQ-ST=12

Let snake and peacock travel x distance before they meet. Now snake is 27-x distance from hole. This forms a right angle triangle with hypotenus x,

base 27-x and 9m height.

Using pythogerus theorem

x^2=81+(27-x)^2

54x=810

x=15

27-x=12m
