A pen cost of 7 time as that of a pencil if Raju buy 3 pencil and 2 pen and pay 34 rupees what is the cost of pencil and pen

let the cost of a pencil be=x

let the cost of pen be=7x

3x+2(7x)=34

3x+14x=34

17x=34

x=34/17

x=2

therefore cost of pencil is rs2 and cost of pen is 7x=7x2=14rs
