There are 7 different ways a person can exactly spend rupees 1000 on buying notebooks and pens

Solution:

The cost of pen is Rs 11

Let the number of pens bought be “x”

The cost of notebook is Rs 13

Let the number of notebook bought be “x”

Amount of money to spend is Rs 1000

Therefore Equation can be formed as  

1000 = 11x + 13y

The possible values of above equations are

(85,5), (72,16), (59,27) ,( 46,38) ,(33,49),(20,60),(7,11)

So, the total number of ways are 7
